Positive Discipline
Our class behavior plan is based on the philosophy of Positive Discipline. We begin our year with a series of lessons where we emphasize building a cooperative classroom community and being kind to each other. We hold weekly class meetings to discuss issues that are of concern to the class. Students are also encouraged to look for specific opportunities to complement classmates. Students will also create a classroom constitution that each member signs. Points are tracked through our class clip chart. Students track their daily points on a monthly chart that they should be sharing with you each day. Points are accumulated for a monthly shopping spree. We also abide by the Selwyn Rules for the Nest.
Selwyn Classroom and School Behavior Expectations:
• Follow directions given by all Selwyn teachers and staff members
• Show respect for yourself, for others, and for Selwyn property
• Keep hands, feet and objects to self
• Raise your hand to speak
• Walk at all times while in the building and on the sidewalks
SELWYN EAGLES SOAR: Selwyn Eagles are safe, orderly, always kind, and respectful; that’s why we are so successful!
