HOMEWORK
Second Grade Students are expected to complete homework each night, Monday through Thursday.
Homework will consist of Reading (reading record to be initialed nightly), Word Work (spelling patterns
and word study) and a Math Review sheet. Word Work will be on a two week cycle with a test on the
second Friday. Students have "Free Choice" for several days during a cycle of words. Each activity
chosen should only be used one time during a cycle of words. Spelling homework will be skipped on
3-day weeks. We will be completing math homework pages from our new EnVisions math curriculum in
order to support in-class instruction. Compass Learning can be used for additional homework practice
in reading and/or math with this time being able to be substituted for nightly reading. Please complete
the reading log and list either math and/or reading and the time spent.
